Jordan Dacayanan is a designer, writer, and editor who lives and works in the greater Bay Area. His poetry has been published in Transfer Magazine (issues #103 and #104) and Cipactli (issue #18). Currently, he edits doctoral-level research papers, grant proposals, and administrative documents.

In 2017, Jordan designed a concept collection of clothing. The collection included both cut-and-sew and knitwear pieces. He personally constructed, styled, and photographed each piece of the collection.

In 2015, Jordan served as a long-term substitute teacher in California's central valley. He developed and implemented a common-core compliant curriculum which centered around Latin American literature, Vietnam war journalism, Shakespearean drama, and the complexities of representation in literature and media. Jordan also participated as a guest creative writing teacher at The Great Valley Writing Project. He currently holds CSET English I-IV state certifications.

From 2013 to 2014, Jordan was a member of the editorial team at San Francisco State University’s Transfer Magazine—first as a staff editor (issue #105), and later as the lead poetry editor (issues #106 and #107). In his capacity as lead poetry editor, Jordan managed the poetry staff, communicated with authors, and selected the final poems to be published by the magazine. Jordan graduated SFSU in 2014 with a B.A. in English and a minor in Anthropology.

Jordan also has experience in candid and landscape photography, e-commerce, retail management, and restaurant/bakery operations. He spends his free time cycling, studying chess, and playing guitar.
